Teachers - Get Connected!
Brevard Workforce Development Board, Inc. and Brevard Job Link are proud to support you in your efforts to teach students the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the 21st Century workforce.
Annual Scavenger Hunt Contest
The Brevard Youth Works website, a career exploration and college and career planning resource, is promoted annually to students participating in the 7th grade Career Wheel course and the 9th grade Career Research and Decision Making course through an online scavenger hunt contest. Implemented in partnership with Brevard Public Schools, our goal is to support students by educating them about the importance of exploring careers early, learning basic labor market concepts and establishing a focus in high school in preparation for entry into post-secondary education, advanced skill training, employment or any combination of these.
Teacher In-Service Workshops
Upon request, we can participate in Teacher In-Service workshops to update you about local labor market trends and other available supports that can help you in planning and implementing career readiness and planning activities for students. Contact your Professional Development Coordinator to learn more.
Business and Education Liaison
Through relationships with Brevard businesses, we assist in establishing connections by offering Business Learning Events to educate businesses about current education and career readiness trends, promoting the benefits of business membership on Career Academy Advisory Committees, encouraging businesses to offer work experience and training opportunities for teens and young adults, and more. Our mission is to meet the needs of the business! This includes supporting your efforts to prepare the emerging workforce with demand-driven skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in today’s labor market.
